The Germano Gambini brand has deep roots in the history of Italian eyewear.
Germano was an innovative designer of extraordinary creativity—an eclectic, captivating figure and a true trendsetter. In 1970, with the rise of prêt-à-porter and the growing fame of fashion designers, he realized the importance of fashionable eyewear and while designing collections for Gianfranco Ferré, Nicola Trussardi, and Enrico Coveri, began to consider producing his own line. He had the idea to design an extremely flexible and lightweight frame using 8mm acetate sheets, leading to the creation of I Leggeri. The frame weighed only 8 grams and was marked it with the initials GG.
The essence of Gambini's style lives on today in his eyewear, conveyed through stories, reinterpretations, and contemporary visions.
