The 1950s gave rise to a new young subculture labeled the Beat Generation, better known as the “Beatniks”. This social circle was heavily involved in literature, poetry, and underground music. It had a clear and distinctive look including black berets, dark low-profile sunglasses, turtlenecks, and cigarette pants. Even today, the Beatniks continue to influence our fashion.
The Rusty is a great representation of that era and is still worn today, featured in the ongoing TV series, The Flash. The Rusty features pin-riveted temples and a hidden hinge on the front, giving it a simple streamline look.
