SOLAMOR
In 1946 Georges Lissac founded the company SIL (Société Industrielle de Lunetterie) to produce optical eyeglass frames that were quickly available in sun versions under the SOL-AMOR line. Almost ten years later, he developed new materials and innovative technologies such as the organic glass, Orma 100, enabling him to create light and resilient models that contributed to his success.
Year 1961 was the launch of the iconic Sport 1000 model from the “Grand Curves Series” that was immediately adopted.
Solamor became extremely successful, with around 15 million glasses sold, and 95% of French opticians distributing them.
In 2024, Alain Miklitarian accompanied by Ludovic Dader, seduced by its history, greatness, and technicality, put Solamor back in the spotlight.
Maison Solamor welcomes in 2025 Jérémy Miklitarian as its new Creative Director. Driven, like his father Alain, by a deep passion for eyewear and guided by a bold vision, he helps shape the evolution of the house’s identity while preserving its heritage.
With its timeless look and lightweight frames, Solamor becomes iconic, the eyewear of a generation.
