While on a three-week tour of Japan, theo found inspiration for this Japanese-tinted collection. And sometimes inspiration is in the most ordinary of experiences. For example, close to stations in Japan, you’ll find countless small snack bars offering a quick bite to eat. And what else is on the menu but noodles... with chopsticks.
It’s true, if you haven’t grown up with them, using chopsticks takes a bit of practice, but once you’ve got the hang of it, the noodles really do taste better! Eating with chopsticks can also have other positive results. Such as a new theo collection. Designers are always on the lookout for an original idea. So, just as you use chopsticks to pick up your noodles, in these glasses, the sticks hold the lenses in place.
The lenses stick out a bit above the frames at the top; Theo never claimed that its mastery of chopsticks was perfect ;-)
As material, Theo opted for stainless steel: strong yet flexible. The frames have been chemically etched and the corners are laser-cut for an extra delicate effect.
