The story of Rigards begins with two strangers crossing paths in a secret eyewear boutique, hidden in a dark alleyway, right in the heart of Hong Kong. Like many great stories, passion is at its epicenter. Jean Marc Virard and Ti Kwa sparked an instant friendship through their shared love for unique eyewear, which eventually led them to start a company together, Rigards.

These two creatives wanted to start a brand that spoke their passion to the world.

The name RIGARDS is a play on the French word regard, meaning “gaze” or “look”, a simple yet meaningful reference to vision, perception and the way we see the world.

From natural horn to sterling silver, Rigards frames have forged an instantly recognizable style that combines offbeat aesthetics with a quiet elegance, much of which pertains to its spirited craftsmanship and unique use of traditional materials. No less compelling are the signature finishes, imparting nuance and character to the frames and creating a distinctive bespoke element.

Rigards is drawn to aesthetics that lie beyond conventional ideas of beauty. Its designs take inspiration from the extraordinary textures, patterns and irregularities found in nature.
